The Ghost (2022) Plot/Story
Vikram (Nagarjuna), also known as The Ghost by the underworld, had a difficult upbringing. Vikram’s early years weren’t easy, what with losing his mother in the Hindu-Muslim riots and dealing with the trauma. He is brought home by a colonel, who also raises his daughter Anu (Gul Panag). To him, they become like family.
Years later, Vikram and his partner and lover Priya both work for Interpol (Sonal Chauhan). Unfortunate circumstances on a mission lead him to resign. One day, his estranged sister Anu calls him and begs him to defend her and her daughter Aditi (Anika Surendran) from her adversaries.
The Ghost (2022) Review
Nagarjuna is excellent in his performance, as usual, carrying the entire film on his shoulders, but ultimately to no use. He has a decent appearance and moves fluidly through the action scenes. Sonal Chauhan is equally excellent in this role.
Key actors Gul Panag and Anika Surendran perform admirably in their roles, and the passages they share with Nag are captivating.
The rest of the cast, which includes Jaya Prakash, Srikanth Iyengar, and Ravi Varma, does well with what is given to them.
In the Ghost, director Praveen Sattaru takes a well-known idea and offers it a unique twist. His screenplay is tight in certain places but sags in others. The Ghost lacks the distinctive style that the director is renowned for, with several of the segments seeming to have been overly edited.
Every scene in the first half of the movie benefits from the excellent background score, which also enhances the action scenes. The second half, however, is overdone and alienates the audience from the remainder of the narrative.
The movie has excellent production values, which are very evident throughout the entire movie. It also has excellent cinematography. However, the editing might have been much sharper.
The Ghost’s action scenes are worth watching. Nagarjuna should be commended for pulling off some daring stunts at this young age with the help of the director’s vision.
There are several action scenes in The Ghost, and undoubtedly some viewers will enjoy them. The storyline, directing, and plot of the action thriller creates enough suspense to keep you interested. The descriptions are accurate. The latter portion is explicit. Nowhere does the director veer off course. He attempts again admirably after PSV Garuda Vega.
Nagarjuna’s performance as Vikram
BGM especially in the first half by Mark K Robin
A few lags here and there Some predictable portions
There will be lags Some elements that are expected
Overall, The Ghost is a mediocre action thriller. Its strength is Nagarjuna’s electrifying performance, which is supported by several top-notch battle scenes. On the other hand, its weak antagonist, formulaic plot, and lack of appropriate emotional passages make it a watchable film this weekend. Give this movie a chance if you enjoy watching action movies, but keep your expectations in check.
