The United States team successfully defended the Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Americans won the golf match by a score of 17.5 to 12.5 and earned their ninth consecutive victory overall.

When Xander Schauffele beat Canadian Corey Conners on the 18th hole with the winning putt, it gave the US team the victory overall.

Schauffele and the other players who had won their matches celebrated on the green.

Every two years, Americans and a foreign team compete in the Presidents Cup, which is available to players from outside of North America and Europe.

The US team has now won 12 of the previous 14 Presidents Cups, with only one tournament loss.

The teams and overall competition had been impacted by players joining the Saudi-sponsored LIV Golf series

and being disqualified from this year's competition, which occupied much of the lead-up to the competition.

Six US players were competing in the Presidents Cup for the first time, and eight of the 12 members of the International Team were making their Presidents Cup debuts.

Canada's Royal Montreal Golf Club will host the 2024 Presidents Cup from September 24 through September 29, that year.
