'Gangster Paradise' Rapper 'Coolio' dies in Los  at 59.

Rapper Coolio, who had hit songs including "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Fantastic Voyage" and 

was one of the biggest names in hip-hop in the 1990s, passed away on Wednesday in Los Angeles at the age of 59. 

Sheila Finegan, Coolio's agent, told Eyewitness News that the rapper had passed away. 

He passed away in the afternoon at a friend's house in Los Angeles, 

according to manager Juarez Posey. It wasn't immediately obvious what caused the fatality.

According to a police source, a death investigation has been launched, and there are no obvious indications of foul play. 

Coolio won Grammy Award for best solo rap performance For "Gangsta's Paradise," Over the career that 

started in the late 1980s, he won five additional Grammy nominations. "Gangsta's Paradise" would become No. 1 a year later.
